Ceiling spotlights are placed above the stage curtain,mainly to the front performance area of the stage, highlighting the charactershape or the stereoscopic effect of the objects on the stage, usually using beam lights and back lights.
Top lights are the light on the top of the stage. They areusually installed on the hanger that can be lifted and lowered, mainly used forthe backyard lighting in the stage and shot in the performance area after thestage. They are mainly used for occasions where strong lighting is requiredfrom the upper part.
The sidelights are placed on both sides ofthe stage flyover, and are shot from the heights on both sides to the stage forauxiliary lighting of the actor's face, and can be used to enhance the lightingof the set level. The commonly used lamps are beam lights.
Foot lights are set on the inner side ofthe stage, and are directed to the actor and the large curtain to compensatefor the steepness of the face, eliminating the shadow in front of the actor. Also,they are used to change the color of the curtain.
The up horizonlights are installed in front of the awningcurtains, used as a skylight set. They aregenerally 2-6m away from the top. They changes the color and background of thestage. And the Low horizon Lights are located underneath the awning curtains, backlighting directed to the awning curtains, used to express special effects suchas horizon, horizontal line and mountain sunrise. The commonly used lamps areastigmatism and floodlights.
If classified by category and effect, stagelights can be divided into beam light, par light, moving head light, laserlight, chasing light, effect lights, etc.
Beam light is kind of concentrating luminaire, emitting bright light column, which is applied to explosive scenes.
Main purpose of Par Light is to dye andchange colors of the stage, and to create a stage performance atmosphere. Commoncolors include red, green, blue, white, etc. The color mixing effect is rich.
Moving head lights move according to X andY axis, to achieve color change, pattern projecting, strobe and other functions.
Chasing light is used to shine at specificlocal objects or characters to produce a circular spot, which can be strobed,changed color, and adjusted in size.
In addition to these common stage lighting,daily stage performances can also be equipped with other stage lights such as softlights, strobe lights, etc.
